After the conversation
Find out who stays involved after the visit
Make the next conversation part of the plan you are considering.
Agree on how the review will work
- What change are we looking for, and how will we discuss it?
- When do we next speak, and with whom?
- How do I describe a problem between visits?
- What happens if the proposed treatment is not helping?
Ask for the answers in the written plan. If a membership includes follow-up, ask what that word covers: messages, visits, reviews or something else.
If the product raises a concern
- Keep the label and packaging information available for the pharmacist or the person treating you.
- Ask for clarification when the written information and the conversation seem different.
When delivery is warm or cooling has been inadequate, leave a GLP-1 injection unused, FDA advises. These weight or diabetes medicines can lose quality in those conditions.
Patients can submit medicine concerns to MedWatch, FDA’s reporting programme; reporting is also open to health professionals.
A report records a suspected problem; it does not prove that a medicine caused it.
Keep the handover clear
- If you change services, ask how to obtain the care summary and relevant results.
- If you leave a membership, ask what follow-up remains available and what it costs.
- Write down the next agreed step and who is responsible for it.
